HEAT TRACE
We are looking for young people living in Kalasatama to create light art! Register for the free workshops using this form by 16.8.2026 at 23:59.
Heat Trace is a project combining light and community art, where we create light art in Kalasatama together with local young people. In the project, we explore the environment of the former Hanasaari coal-fired power plant using thermal imaging. The thermal images will be used to create light art with the young people, which will be projected onto the facade of the power plant building.
We are looking for young people aged 16–20 living in Kalasatama to participate in the art workshops. A total of four workshops will be organised during September, and they will take place once a week. The exact dates of the workshops will be planned according to the participants' schedules. The workshops are free of charge and do not require any prior information or expertise. All necessary materials will be provided to the workshop participants free of charge. The workshops will be organised in Finnish.

The project is funded by the City of Helsinki.
